Handling the Clutter : Tips That Could Help You Arrange Your RoomDecember 19, 2019
Have you got a room in your home that is packed full of stuff you never actually use, but you never bothered to dump? Does your room always feel a bit like it’s untidy and crowded? If so , working on decluttering your room and organizing it can do wonders to help make you like that room once more.
Organizing any room does not just entail having the ability to find the things you want when you need them, but it is also about making a tranquil, clean, and friendly environment where you can relax and efficiently work without the burden of stress that debris can create. As with any process, you want to start by knowing the purpose of the room you want to organize, identifying the major things you would like to keep or throw away, taking everything out and then putting everything back together. It will take quite a lot of effort and time, but with enough determination, it can be done with positive and permanent results. With that in mind, here are one or two helpful pointers on how to organize your room to attain that place of Zen and peace you can consider your refuge.
You have to have a plan. You need to think about the intention of the room and what activities will be performed in that room. Is the point of the room TV viewing, exercising, playing games, reading, sewing / crafts, sleeping, serving as a home-based office or surfing the internet? After determining the purpose and function of the room, start a list of the things needed to perform the activities usually done there. What sort of space do need for each activity and where are you able to store items relevant to the room when they are not being used? Some find it helpful to make a sketch or drawing of the room to get a better view of the planned output and to just fool around with possible layout of furniture.
Next, in order to organize the room you want to purge, sort, replace and maintain. Begin by selling, giving or chucking away any thing you believe is pointless. Go thru your closets, drawers or any storage areas within in the room and throw away rubbish. Identify items you wish to stay in the room and place them in strategic places within the room so that they are conveniently available. You have to be consistent with where you place things so as not to make more debris. If you have left over space for storing within the room, it is perfectly all right to store other less often used items there in closets, cupboards, shelving and drawers. Just make sure everything is obviously labelled and sharply organized and placed. You may even need to replace an old cumbersome TV or treadmill with more modern more space efficient ones. Ultimately, you want to keep your room clean. Maintaining a clean and organised room can require a little bit of effort but the rewards are worthwhile.
Having an organised and effectively laid out room can be a very positive thing. Just visualize the room you want, be bold enough to throw away the junk, take the time to sort and organize and then be consistent in maintaining your arranged room. It all boils down to you. If you want to achieve it, it can occur, you just need to begin
