Being a self-proclaimed “Life Simplifier,” I have fought the urge to blog for quite a while now because keeping up a blog doesn’t fit my idea of “simple living.” Recently, however, I’ve felt the need to share the abundance of “simple living inspiration” I have experienced.
Over the past several months, I have gone through a personal transformation as have many of my clients. This planet is going through a truly amazing shift right now. I have to say that I LOVE it! People, more than ever before, are finding and living their life purpose. Finally, people are going back to simple and purposeful living.
Let’s recall the 80’s? Big hair, bigger houses, SUV’s, over-scheduled lives, and then came the 90’s (and more wealth). Big consumerism, bigger shopping malls, longer work weeks, even bigger gas tanks, and mic-mansions. During this time, many of us, while living big complicated lives, lost (or possibly never found) our purpose, became out-of touch, disconnected from others and from our beautiful planet, and from spirituality. While, even churches and religion got bigger (the time when mega churches started cropping up) spirituality got lost in my opinion.
The big “sugar high crash,” came next (as I like to call it). This was marked by massive corporate corruption, the crash of the stock market and real estate, war, health care crises, and the awareness that we are quickly destroying our planet, to name just a few. As a result, many found themselves lost, upset, or even depressed.
As a result, we are finally starting to get to the good stuff. To overcome adversity, personal growth is usually required and millions of people across the world are choosing to transform their lives and the result is much happier people!
People are downsizing their homes, simplifying their schedules, eliminating waste and choosing a life that is in alignment with their life purpose. I have clients that have left or lost big high paying jobs they hated, sold two thirds of their stuff, traded their over-sized home for a smaller one, downsized or eliminated their vehicles, and started businesses they love, providing services of value to people. Their lives are dramatically simpler – they get plenty of sleep, plenty of exercise, plenty of quality time with family and friends, and LOVE what they do for work. Do you think they miss their big house and big paycheck?
Helping people become truly happy while living their life purpose by simplifying their homes, lives, and schedules is what I absolutely LOVE to do. The reason I started this blog was to inspire those of you who are ready to transform yourself and your life and experience happy and simple living..
Strive to make this your best year yet!
“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life.” ~Jim Burroughs
