Why do 97% of Network Marketers fail within six month of starting their online business? Some professional network marketers would say they lack the knowledge, courage and motivation necessary to succeed. Other network marketing professionals would say they treat their business more like a hobby, rather then a business. People that have tried it and failed would say it’s a scam. I believe they all lacked the burning desire to be successful. This is what is going to make or break you. Almost all successful people have a burning desire to be something.
Then you must put that thought into action. Everyday you must remind yourself about that thought. It must become a burning desire within you to achieve it. That thought must become and obsession of yours. Once it becomes a burning desire within you. Your mind will tell your body to take action by putting it in motion. Once your body is in motion you will start to take action in your business. If your burning desire is strong enough. It will make you take action everyday until you achieve your desire.

Let me paint you a picture of how this will work. This true story takes place in 1907. There was a man by the name of Edwin Barnes. He was a poor man from the west coast. He had a thought of one day becoming a partner with Thomas Edison. After weeks of thinking about becoming partners with Edison. It became evident that he had a burning desire to make it happen. “Barnes’ desire was not a hope! It was not a wish! It was a keen, pulsating DESIRE, which transcended everything else. It was DEFINITE. The desire was not new when he approached Edison. It had been Barnes’ dominating desire for a long time…” (Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill pg. 31) He decided to travel across the continent. However, he didn’t have any money for a train ticket. So he decided that, that little down turn was not going to stop him. He stiffed his ego and traveled by freight liner to Orange, New Jersey. Once there he went straight to Edison’s offices. He met with Edison and told him of his burning desire to be partner with him. Edison thought he wasn’t much of a man to look at, but liked his enthusiasm. So he gave Edwin a menial job at a nominal wage. Now despite not satisfying his burning desire on the first interview. Edwin took the job and knew someday he would get his chance. Edwin had his successes and failures over the years working for Edison. However he always moved forward with his burning desire in the forefront. Low and behold, one day he got his chance. Edison was trying to sell his Ediphone and no salesman would take the job. They all thought it was to hard to sell. So Edwin stepped up and took the job. Still to this day when you mention the word Ediphone, the first thing people think of is Edwin Barnes. He became Edison’s best salesman and most say if it wasn’t for Edwin. Edison would have never sold that product to the masses. Do to his amazing sales efforts and continuous persistence. Edwin Barnes and Thomas Edison became great friends and business partner.
This proves that it all must start with a thought and then escalate into a burning desire. The burning desire must be strong enough to stand up to the toughest of situations. When you start your business make sure your foundation is your burning desire. If you do that, you will never become a statistic. You will become a successful leader in this industry.
